David W. Tarbell, 72, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008.
He was a graduate of Louisville Male High School in 1952, a graduate of Kenyon College in Gambier,
Ohio, in 1956 where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a graduate of Syracuse University
where he received a master’s degree and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He was also a first lieutenant in
the Air Force, where he served at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. He worked for NASA and
TELEDYNE as a physicist. He was born June 27, 1935, to the late Virgil F. and Lois Lyons Tarbell.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Don Tarbell.
Survivors include a daughter, Wendy Voelker and Lee of Brandenburg; two sons, Richard Tarbell of
Columbus, Ohio, and Mark Tarbell of Spokane, Wash.; a brother, Doug Tarbell of Petersburg, Tenn.;
two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is at 3 p.m. Saturday at Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg.
Visitation is from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
