Elroy Scott Cart, 90, of Union Star, KY passed away Sunday, July 6, 2008 at Hardin Memorial Hospital.
He was a veteran of WWII where he served in the US Navy, he had retired from Olin Chemical and was a
Deacon for Payneville Baptist Church.
He was born September 11, 1917 in Union Star, KY to the late Ernest Roy and Florence Biddle Cart.
He was preceded in death by his sister Mabel Barger.
He is survived by his wife Elwanda Batts Cart, daughter, Glenda (Frank) King of Richmond, VA, son, Steve
(Sherry) Cart of Brandenburg, grandchildren; Brian (Rebecca) King of San Diego, CA, Todd (Bridget) King
of Atlanta, GA, Kyle King of Richmond, VA, Josh Salvia of Chicago, IL, Adam Cart and Alison Cart both
from Brandenburg, great-grandchildren, Aidan King, Quinlan King, Vivian King and Nicholas King.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 11 A.M. EDT from the chapel of Bruington-
Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home with burial to follow in Union Star Cemetery. Visitation will be held
Tuesday, July 8, 2008 from 5 – 8 P.M. and after 8:00 A.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
The grandchildren will also be the pallbearers.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Payneville Baptist Church Building Fund.
